Daily life: A short survival guide (for parents!)
Once admission to La Marelle has been confirmed, it’s time to get down to practicalities! To ensure that everyone thrives, we have a few little secrets for ‘living well’ together.
Calendar
At La Marelle, we strive to provide families with a stable and predictable environment while adapting our calendar to the specific needs of our teaching methods. Our calendar is based on that of compulsory education in the canton of Geneva. However, in order to meet the school’s educational objectives, some adjustments may be made.
Schedules
- Morning drop-off : From 8:00 a.m. for a smooth transition to classroom activities.
- Wednesdays : A special day dedicated to the Wednesday Club! Children enjoy specific themed activities, relaxation time and creative discoveries, all in English through immersion (from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. starting in September 2026).
Let's eat !
Independence also begins at the dinner table. Balanced meals are served every lunchtime. Children learn how to set the table, serve themselves and clear up like grown-ups.
In the rucksack
(and what we leave at home)
To maintain concentration and equality among all :
- Yes to comfortable slippers: it's like being at home!
- No to personal toys: they stay in the bedroom so we can focus on the treasures in the classroom.
- Comfort blankets: for the little ones, these are of course welcome for transition times and nap time.
- Dummies ? We love them, but they stay in the locker or bag to encourage talking and smiling.
Ready to submit your application ?
Taking the plunge and enrolling is above all a matter of trust and feeling. You probably still have a thousand questions in your mind: cleanliness, nap time, bilingual adaptation, or simply the desire to feel the energy that emanates from our new classrooms… and we love to answer them!
Whether you’re already convinced or still thinking it over, La Marelle’s doors are wide open to you. Contact us to arrange a visit or just to chat : it’s the best way to find out if our school will be your child’s next adventure playground.
